Andrea Geiger

Born in 1970, baptised and raised in Vorarlberg with first attempts at church work in parish (voluntary) and diocese (full-time) - focus: pastoral work with children and youth.

1994 -2002: Studies of Catholic Theology and Educational Sciences in Vienna & Graz, parallel voluntary chairperson of Kath. Jugend Österreich - development of a networking platform for all those involved in church youth work - biggest project: «72 hours without compromise».

2003 - Archdiocese of Vienna - International Congress for New Evangelization and Urban Mission (project management/overall coordination)

2004/2005 - Austrian Bishops' Conference - Central European Catholic Day (project management/overall coordination)

2006/2007 - Austrian Bishops' Conference - Overall coordination of the papal visit of Benedict XVI to Austria

2007-2010 - Archdiocese of Vienna - Definition of a diocesan development process with three large diocesan assemblies based on the Acts of the Apostles (project management/overall coordination)

2011-2019 - Archdiocese of Vienna - Head of staff for the diocesan development process Acts 2.1 «Called to the Master's school» & part of the steering group

From 2020 - Archdiocese of Vienna - Establishment of a ministry for the accompaniment of growth processes.

I grew up in a church that is practically getting smaller and smaller. That's why I've always been interested in how/where/why the Church can grow... - «Finding out what God is doing right now and participating in it» - is like «learning to fly» - adventurous, charming, always new and beautiful!
